Matt & Julie Cooper
Mexico Director
Both Matt and Julie hold bachelors degrees from Indiana University and Masters in Ministry from Bethel College. Matt and Julie felt God's calling to ministry even before they were married. They joined the Back2Back staff in March of 2003. The Coopers have experience in social work and were foster parents in Indiana before moving to Mexico.
From the fall of 2007-2010, Matt and Julie served as the house parents for the James House where they parented eight teenage boys, ages fifteen to twenty years old, who were all pursuing their high school and/or college education. Matt oversaw the Hope Program for Back2Back and was the captain of Casa Hogar Betesda. Matt and Julie both have hearts for the discipleship of teens, and desired to see the boys in their home grow to love the Lord with all of their heart, strength and soul. Now, the Coopers are serving at Back2Back's ministry site in Cancun, Mexico. There are a great deal of street children and vulnerable orphans who are at-risk of falling victim to the child trafficking business that is thriving in Cancun. The Coopers are working with area orphanages, "providing care for today and hope for tomorrow" to children in need in order to protect orphans from such risks.
The Coopers have six children: Corinna, Chloe, Jake, Cameron, Caroline and Caleb.
