Take a Mission Trip
Back2Back serves children’s homes and impoverished communities, by partnering with individuals, schools, churches, civic groups, and businesses to create a bridge between people in need and people with resources. This is accomplished through partnerships and short-term mission trips, in which individuals and groups work alongside Back2Back staff members who are stationed at each of our ministry locations. Back2Back mission trips provide a life-changing experience that leaves a lasting impact. University, corporate, civic and church groups partner with us through service projects. We also serve children by partnering with local churches, businesses, pastors and leaders in the community to facilitate sustainable local change.
Each year, Back2Back facilitates mission trips for over a thousand students, families and businesses providing an opportunity to serve orphans and impoverished families in a third world country. Back2Back handles all logistics and preparation, in-country transportation and meals.
Our mission trips are one week in length, and each mission week is action packed with great interaction and relationship-building time. Balanced with lots of “kid time” is a strong work schedule designed to improve the facilities, programs, and living conditions for the children and impoverished communities that we serve. We encourage anyone who has a heart to serve to join us! We have extensive experience in hosting the following types of groups:
1. Church Groups
We have been partnering with churches from all over the country to help meet the needs of the children in Mexico. Taking a church trip, whether it is with a youth group, adult group, or family group, is a great way to introduce your church to the joy of serving in Mexico and then bring that joy back home to serve locally. Request to be a trip coordinator* below and we will walk you through this easy process. * You must be at least 21 and have a group of 10 or more to lead a trip
2. High School/Junior High Groups
In working with high school and junior high teachers and counselors, we have found that a missions experience in Mexico is a great eye opener for American youth. It is an opportunity to see another culture and to understand the importance of serving those in need. Request to be a trip coordinator* below and we will walk you through this easy process. * You must be at least 21 and have a group of 10 or more to lead a trip
3. College Groups
College students have proven to be some of our most effective workers, as they have the energy to work hard and the passion to build relationships with the children in Mexico. Each year we attract greater numbers of college students, many of whom choose to intern for the summer. These students represent colleges from around the country. Many of them use Mexico as a way to build their Spanish-speaking skills and to learn about another culture. Request to be a trip coordinator* below and we will walk you through this easy process. * You must be at least 21 and have a group of 10 or more to lead a trip
4. Family Groups
Family groups are showing a greater interest in missions with Back2Back than ever before. We have hosted Father/Daughter Groups as well as entire families and we see it as a benefit to children to see their parents serving – a true picture of faith in action. Request to be a trip coordinator* below and we will walk you through this easy process. * You must be at least 21 and have a group of 10 or more to lead a trip. Our suggested minimum age limit is eight (8).
5. Men’s/Women’s Groups
The children in Mexico love the attention and affection of adults. Parents have a unique opportunity to make an investment in the lives of these kids as they pour out God’s love to these children who have never experienced it. It is also an opportunity for men and women to use their areas of expertise to serve the children – dentists, seamstresses, teachers, and construction workers have all blessed us with their gifts. Request to be a trip coordinator* below and we will walk you through this easy process. * You must be at least 21 and have a group of 10 or more to lead a trip.
6. Corporate Groups
Corporations have found mission trips to be great for teambuilding. Some businesses offer trips to both their employees and families. Corporate groups have served and sponsored a variety of projects in an effort to benefit the children we serve. Request to be a trip coordinator* below and we will walk you through this easy process. * You must be at least 21 and have a group of 10 or more to lead a trip.
