El Retiro Juvenil (ERJ) is a children’s home that serves 23 children in Montemorelos, Nuevo Leon, about 45 minutes south of Back2Back. The home was founded in 1962.  The directors, Martha and Carlos Reyes became a part of the B2B extended family in 1999.  It’s a family atmosphere that fosters healthy children. Back2Back is helping to run a ropes course and, in the future, a retreat facility to help sustain the home.

Transforming the children’s future and the society, serving children in need providing them a home, education and helping them to find God’s purpose for their lives.

Mission:
That we would reach every child God brings to our path meeting their personal needs, supporting their spiritual growth and academic formation, providing them a home with a new family model - safe and healthy, that they may establish a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and discover their life’s purpose.

Long Term Goals:

- finish Ropes Course bathrooms by January 2009.
- solve some legal documents issues by April 2009.
- provide workers training 3 or 4 times per year in areas like raising children, family & spouse relationships, administration, personal growth, etc.
- improve nutrients balance in children’s daily diet adding more vegetables and fruit.
- start 2009 without debt (Actually debts are aprox. $4,200 USD divided in: $790 pickup payments; $1935 Nov. & Dec. directors salary; $795 Grocery store & $680 Worker’s Social Security Payments).
- have good & enough vehicles to transport children to school for early 2009.
- develop a formal plan for vegetables culture to produce enough vegetables for daily needs.
- increase food donations from just bread and some times milk to regular providers of milk, eggs, meat, beans, rice and vegetables.
- increase monetary income from $3000 USD to $5000.
- 2 New dorms one for boys & one for girls by end 2011.
- increase regular monetary donors from 1 to 50 by Dec. 2010.
- have 3 “bus cabin” to host camp groups all year around by Dec 2009.
- build a new shade (palapa) at ropes course by Dec. 2009.
